Cross-Country Skiing Lessons for Adult Beginners
I have been a member and volunteer with the Devon Nordic Ski Club for many years. In the winter of 2014, I earned the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) Level 1 certification. I offer lessons that cover basic information and skills for classical or track skiing including equipment and clothing, getting up from a fall, weight transfer, kick and glide, going up and down hills, and trail etiquette.
I provide lessons in Devon’s river valley at no charge but ask participants to support the Devon Nordic Ski Club by placing a donation in the blue metal stand at the trailhead, or by purchasing a membership via the club’s website. The funds are used to cover expenses such as operating and maintaining trail-grooming equipment.
The first time I went cross-country skiing was in my high school gym class. Over the years, my love of cross-country skiing has grown and I often find myself smiling at the blessings of a sunny day and sparkling snow to play on. It is very satisfying to help others to discover what fantastic exercise cross-country skiing is and experience the pleasures of spending time outdoors in the winter.
If you wish to try cross-country skiing and would like some friendly and encouraging guidance, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
